Phone: +972-4-829-3454
Fax: +972-4-822-5153
Prof. Podbilewicz’s research interests include understanding the development and evolution of organs and organ systems, which is one of the major challenges in present day biology. He is focusing on two basic biological problems: how cells fuse to form giant multinucleate cells and how organs form in animals. In addition, he is studying how these two universal processes have changed during evolution.
Assoc. Prof. Adi Salzberg
Rappaport Faculty of Medicine
Email: adis@technion.ac.il
Phone: +972-4-829-5227
Fax: +972-4-829-5225
Prof. Salzberg’s research focuses on studying the molecular mechanisms that control neural development by using the peripheral nervous system (PNS) of the fruit fly Drosophila melaogaster as a model system. She is focusing mainly on two aspects of PNS development – the involvement of homeotic genes and their co-factors in the generation of segment-specific patterns and the development of proprioceptors.
