Tenure and Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Interdisciplinary Sciences
The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology is developing its core strengths at the interface of Engineering, Quantitative Sciences, Biology and Medicine. The President has initiated a special program for recruitment of exceptional interdisciplinary candidates who bridge across disciplines, combining new approaches from Engineering, Quantitative Sciences, Computer Science and Big Data to bear upon key questions in Biology and Medicine. We are particularly interested in original and creative scientists and engineers who are experts in one or more of the disciplines above and interested in developing and applying new technologies, experimental approaches, or quantitative big-data methodologies to enable novel perspectives on important biological systems.
Our environment stimulates novelty and cross-discipline exchange and provides infrastructure that spans technologies in life science, engineering and data science.
The search is open for both tenure-track and tenured positions at all academic ranks (Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, or Full Professor). Candidates are expected to have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree with a demonstrated ability to conduct high quality research and teach in their area of expertise. Successful individuals will have a primary appointment in one of the Technion’s faculties, according to their choice and fit, and at the same time join our vibrant interdisciplinary community. As instruction at the Technion is conducted in Hebrew, knowledge of, or the willingness to learn Hebrew is expected. Also, candidates should be eligible for working in Israel.
The Technion – Israel Institute of Technology is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to increasing diversity. We welcome applications from women and members of minority groups, as well as others who would bring additional dimensions to the university’s research and teaching missions.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their application to the chair of the President’s Interdisciplinary Recruitment Program, Prof. Roy Kishony (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Applications should include a current resume, a letter of interest and a brief research plan.
